FOX Life To Launch On DStv In October

FOX Life, a bold and entertaining Pan African channel will offer an eclectic and exciting mix of US dramas, comedies, unscripted programming along with fresh local content.
FOX Networks Group Europe and Africa (FNG) today announced the launch of a bold new Pan African channel, FOX Life on 3 October 2016. Considered one of the world’s leading destinations for scripted and unscripted entertainment, FOX Life will be tailored for African audiences, and be available on DStv 126 in South Africa.
As part of the new channel, an additional 954 hours of fresh new programming will be added to the schedule over the coming months, focused on localised storytelling, created specifically for African viewers. New hit US shows to debut on FOX Life include Pitch and Atlanta.
“FOX Life is core to our global entertainment portfolio and its entry into this market signals FNG’S continued investment in Africa,” says Gary Alfonso, GM, FNG Africa. “From hit U.S. programming, to 954 hours of brand new hours which will be a mixture of locally developed and produced content and international content. Our new channels portfolio reflects the best in entertainment, factual and sports.”

The new channel will sit alongside FOX on DStv (126) and will replace FOX Crime, which will no longer be available on DStv from 28 September 2016. Select programming from this channel will be folded into the FOX daytime schedules. This is a win for DStv customers as FOX Crime was limited to only DStv Premium and DStv Extra, FOX Life will be available to DStv Premium, Extra, Compact, Family and Access customers in South Africa.
FOX Life now joins the extensive FNG portfolio in Africa, which includes FOX, National Geographic Channel, Nat Geo Wild, National Geographic Gold, FOX Sports, FOX Sports 2 and Baby TV.
