SUPERSTAR HORROR WEEK

THE CABIN IN THE WOODS
1st May at 21:55
From Buffy mastermind Joss Whedon and Cloverfield writer Drew Goddard comes a horror film with a difference. Like so many idiotic teenagers before them, five friends head out to a remote cabin in the woods for a weekend when they discover a basement filled with mysterious relics - and all hell breaks loose. With a stellar cast including Chris Hemsworth, Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford, this is an all-in-one critique, celebration and deconstruction of horror movies. Surprising, delightful and terrifying at every turn, it’s a total scream.

MAGGIE
7th May at 22:00
When a deadly virus strikes, turning people into cannibalistic zombies, Wade (Arnold Schwarzenegger) finds his daughter Maggie (Abigail Breslin) infected and quarantined. Bringing her home for her remaining days, Wade stays by Maggie’s side, watching her slowly transform from his beloved chid to a savage creature, while painfully aware that her time is running out. A dramatic departure from Arnie’s usual roles, this post- apocalyptic thriller is a moving portrayal of a father trying to save his daughter from one thing he can’t destroy – herself.

HOUSE AT THE END OF THE STREET 4th May at 22:00
Jennifer Lawrence shines in this psychological horror as Elissa, who moves to a small town with her newly-divorced mother, Sarah (Elisabeth Shue), in search of a new beginning. However, they soon discover that their new home lies in the shadow of a chilling secret, as a nearby house was the site of a gruesome double murder where a crazed girl bludgeoned her parents to death before disappearing. As Elissa befriends the sole survivor of the crime and brother of the missing girl, Ryan (Max Thieriot), she finds herself drawn into a dangerous world where nothing is quite what it seems.

A HAUNTED HOUSE
2nd May at 22:00
In this spoof of 'found footage' horror films, Malcolm (Marlon Wayans) and Kisha (Essence Atkins) move into their dream house only to discover that they’re not alone. While watching a sex tape they filmed in their new home, the couple are shocked to discover strange paranormal phenomena caught on camera. However, it’s not just the house that’s haunted! When Kisha appears to be possessed by a demon, Malcolm pulls all stops and hires everyone from a priest and a psychic to a team of modern-day ghost-busters to evict the pesky intruder – and get his sex life back on track.

TUESDAY’S HOLLYWOOD HITS

THE DA VINCI CODE
23rd May at 20:00
Tom Hanks stars in this big screen adaptation of Dan Brown’s international bestseller. When a curator at the Louvre is found murdered, it’s up to Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) to follow the clues hidden in Da Vinci paintings to a secret society that’s been covering up a religious mystery since the days of Christ – and which could shake the very foundations of Christianity.

ANGELS & DEMONS
30th May at 20:00
Everyone’s favourite symbologist returns in this highly antici- pated sequel to Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code. Tom Hanks reprises his role as Robert Langdon, who is called to the Vatican to decode a mysterious symbol found on the skin of a murdered priest, leading to a race against time to track down another secret organisation and stop a terrorist plot.

FRIDAY’S COMEDY NIGHT
“Oddballs”

SOMEONE MARRY BARRY
12th May at 20:00
Ever wonder why you’re friends with someone you just can’t stand? That’s a problem childhood friends Desmond, Rafe and Kurt are looking desperately to solve! Deciding that the only way to ‘fix’ their socially inappropriate friend Barry is to find him a wife, they set out to look for someone to temper his insufferable personality. However, their perfect plan starts to go off the rails when the girl they pick for Barry turns out to be just as obnoxious as he is. Hilarious romantic comedy starring Tyler Labine, Damon Wayans Jr and Lucy Punch.

MISS MEADOWS
26th May at 20:00
Katie Holmes stars as the lovely Miss Meadows, a prim, well-mannered primary school teacher with a penchant for tap dancing and long walks. Beneath her old-fashioned and candy-sweet exterior, however, lies a ruthless, gun-toting crimefighter who rids the streets of corruption at night! Things get complicated when Miss Meadows falls for the local sheriff (James Badge Dale), who is on the lookout for the suburban vigilante, and finds herself stalked by an ex-convict (Callan Mulvey) who threatens to put her students in danger.

STRETCH
19th May at 20:00
Down-on-his-luck luck limo driver Kevin aka ‘Stretch’ (Patrick Wilson) is struggling to pay off his gambling debts, when life suddenly hands him a way out – a client who agrees to pay him an exorbitant fee in exchange for taking him wherever he wants that night, from exclusive nightclubs to seedy hotspots. Stretch’s generous new passenger, however, is Roger Karos (Chris Pine), an eccentric and hedonistic playboy in posses- sion of a sought-after ledger that implicates a handful of very dangerous criminals who will go to any lengths to get it back!

THE VOICES
5th May at 22:00
An upbeat employee at a bathtub factory, Jerry (Ryan Reynolds) is seemingly normal – apart from the fact that he has conver- sations with his talking pets. When Jerry musters the courage to ask his crush Fiona (Gemma Arterton) out on a date, things go terribly – and fatally – wrong, leaving Jerry to turn to his evil cat Mr Whiskers and good-natured dog Bosco for help. As he struggles to make the best of a bad situation, things spiral murderously out of control. Reynolds is brilliant in this improb- ably layered film that veers from gory horror to humour.
