Truth Seeking Questions: Why Did Openview Become Indianview And What To Observe About The Offering On eExtra? + Upcoming Shows For eReality

Openview: "Where did we go wrong?
"

Telenovelas has always been present on this platform. It wasn't as prominent as it appears to be before most of them were repeats from DStv ranging from Telemundo, Azteca TV and Globo.

Now it seems like the main focus is to incorporate content that can be uploaded to eVOD as seen with those Indian series on eExtra. Aside from that, eMedia doesn't want to acknowledged as a DStv+.

The Indian offering continues its domination on eExtra but there's reasons why they haven't parted ways as yet. Aside from having a loyal fanbase there's not much alternatives.

script async src="https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-2656328684472327" crossorigin="anonymous">

The matter regarding Telemundo and Azteca have been cleared but with Globo the reasons go deeper. M-Net provided funds to get Brazilian shows in English and just like K-TV viewers found other alternatives.

In the end, what option is left for them aside from Korean and Turkish shows. It doesn't seem like they plan to bring those DStv repeats unless they were able to add it onto eVOD.

In other news: eExtra is set to welcome three series Die Put, High Society Scandal and Vishkanya. Other rumoured titles for the channel include Bullets And Bloods and Kindred Hearts.

What to learn from eExtra's Bollywood block?

Aside from the fact that 95% of the content comes from Zee TV with the channel distributing The Heir a few days after its supplier's rival brand Zee One. The lineup has seemingly became thematic.

Similar to the other Indian channels, eExtra has given a persona to each timeslot. The first slot is for the average, the second is reserved for Zee World and the last is for the paranormal.

Call in the troops, eReality has something to say:

eReality happens to be the most popular reality channel in South Africa asidpe of being in the Top 10 channels in the market. The brand has invested time in several titles part of which may have been seen on DStv.

WAGS, this show features the fabulous lives of the wives and girlfriends of professional athletes.

Who Shot Biggie & Tupac?, a two-hour investigative special that probes the unsolved murders of rappers Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur, from Critical Content.

Kevin Hart: What The Fit the titular character teams up with celebrity friends and YouTube stars each week as they attempt to master a different trending and sometimes ridiculous workout routine.

Fear Thy Neighbor - documenting a series of crimes in which neighbours take their quarrels too far, as their feuds end in violence and even murder.

Also joining the lineup is OJ Simpson's Case, Killer Couples, Christmas Cook Book and Prankster.

Is An eBella Revival On eMedia Investments Still On The Cards And Could It Replace Something Like Star Life On Openview?

eBella was a short-lived female-focused channel which was produced by eMedia Investments offering reality, lifestyle and telenovelas.

The actual reason for it's discontinuation is still unknown but from what sources mentioned before eMedia had considered launching a seperate reality channel and telenovela channel.

Now these old rumors seem very likely as several stations on eMedia have undergone some lineup changes especially with Kuiertyd on eExtra.

The only thing safe on eExtra is the local repeats from e.tv and for some reason the Indian dramas but why the Indie though.

Could it be possible that maybe one of the current Indian channels on Openview will be booted soon, in this case Star Life?

eExtra always had Indian dramas through eBella and this was before Star Life was conceived. During that time, viewers still noticed a presence in Turkish (English), Latin American and Mexican telenovelas now that has been occupied by more Indian and Kuiertyd soaps.

Both of which retain a 28.6% share in the schedule. The only difference is there's no similar offering for Kuiertyd like there is for Indie dramas. That wasn't the case before as the offering in that area was much smaller at the time.

Even if Star Life was kicked to the curb there's chances that viewers will be redirected to eExtra as it boosts their viewership particularly for these type of series.

eMedia Investments has signed an agreement with SABC and they're still waiting on two entertainment channels they were promised more info about in June so they'll likely use those channels to cover up for the loss and possibly rollout an additional channel, in this case an eBella type channel.

You know how e.tv airs repeats of Kuiertyd dramas in the mornings well this eBella type channel repeats the Indian dramas at night and feature some other programming.

In the end, it seems possible that maybe e.tv will be distancing themselves or limiting the number of soaps from Latin America and Mexico due to their new streaming service eVOD which seemingly reveals only Turkish dramas with other programming on eExtra missing from the lineup.

eExtra Switches Back To 24/7 Channel When eBella Stops Airing At The End Of March

eExtra the South African digital satellite
television channel supplied by eMedia Investments on their Openview platform as well as MultiChoice's DStv and On Digital Media (ODM) Starsat switches back to 24 hour channel from April.

The reason for the switch has to do with the shutdown of the unsuccessful female based channel eBella. Several if not most of eBella shows will be transmitted on eExtra in April as a "weekday guilty pleasure afternoon block" on the channel.

eExtra hasn't been schedule wise for sometime now which has built a major impact on the brand. You'll find some new content on this channel get the late night treatment similar to what Turner U.S. and International does with Cartoon Network and Boomerang where 2-3 shows get attention while others which are on an indefinite hiatus for some reason get the death treatment by being put weekday mornings or nights with no repeats most of the time and if there was they'd put it at a time less viewers would be tuned in so Turner's channels are way worse than eExtra. This treatment is unacceptable as it forces some viewers to distance themselves from the channel and the minute something good comes on you miss it and for those who want to see the show can't since the channel is not schedule wise.

eExtra is basically described as a premium entertainment channel in HD including sitcoms, drama series, reality, telenovelas, court shows, lifestyle and movies after the shutdown of eBella you can say weekdays eExtra became a telenovela channel with a dash of court shows, drama series and news as indicated:

Then you have your weekend lineup the channel has more variety but no movies. When eExtra first launched the weekends always had variety so its no different even after they switch it back to 24 hours. Two things you should pay attention to the telenovelas dominate the weekend to a lesser degree Saturday is filled with Indian telenovelas and 1 turkish telenovela but you'll hardly notice any difference as usual as there's reality shows, news and sitcoms while Sunday is consists mostly of programs catered for Afrikaans speakers plus news, telenovelas and local series like Traffic! and Umlilo as indicated:
